Everybody has been concerned about him and he's been so desperate to score," said Megson. "If his personality was a little bit different he might have said, stuff it, and probably would have scored before now. But he is so intense and determined to score that sometimes he is not relaxed. I really do hope that relaxes him a bit because I'm not ready to give up on Johan Elmander yet, nobody at the club is."The Elmander goal was the final, and eventually unnecessary, finale to a Bolton comeback that had contained plenty of spirit after West Ham had threatened to bury them under an early avalanche of chances.Ultimately, the visitors could claim only one goal, Herita Ilunga's on the hour, after Matt Taylor attempted to clear Alessandro Diamanti's corner and succeeded only in deflecting it to the far post and the West Ham defender.
That looked likely to be the winning goal until Taylor made amends in the closing minutes of normal time, picking out an unmarked Kevin Davies from a corner and watching the veteran forward steer home the ball with a seven-yard header.
Honours even, momentum was with the home team and Taylor teed up Davies for a 93rd minute header, scrambled off the line, before forcing Robert Green into a superb save from a 25-yard free-kick.Six minutes of extra-time had elapsed when West Ham failed to arrest Tamir Cohen's run into the area, his cross was worked to Fabrice Muamba for a blocked shot which Gary Cahill chased down and sent soaring into the goal from 25 yards. The opening exchanges had been very different to this, West Ham creating four noteworthy chances inside the opening three minutes, Kieron Dyer missing the best of these as Jussi Jaaskelainen won their one-on-one battle, a feat he would later repeat against Zavon Hines. But Bolton showed early glimpses of their potential for recovery with Green needing to be in excellent form to deny a header from Zat Knight and a glancing effort from Ivan Klasnic."It's not a great moment for us just now but we are playing good football and that's encouraging," said Zola. "We just need to improve some things but at least we're producing good football. When you create so many opportunities you need to do better. That was that."

Michael Mancienne had an up and down day, getting beat by both Bent and Jones, the former leading to Sunderland's third but also putting in a number of blocks and clearances and leading a couple of Wolves moves forward. He's also credited with an own goal for Sunderland's 5th which sums up the sort of day he and his teammates had. The final score of 5-2 is rather flattering to Sunderland as Wolves had leveled twice and at had looked the stronger team for much of the game.Franco Di Santo returns from a hamstring injury to start for Rovers. He put the Villa defender under pressure leading to an equalizing goal for Samba in the 24th. Shortly after he headed to David Dunne who was denied by some fine goal keeping by Friedel. With rovers down to 10 men for most of the second half he was reduced to chasing long balls. Di Santo chased one such ball in the 89th winning a throw in. The resulting throw was flicked on to Franco who controlled with his chest before driving an effort on goal. The ball hit Richard Dunne's hand which was above his head and referee Clattenberg pointed to the spot. Dunne converted and Rovers held on to win 2-1. All around good performance from Di Santo on his first game back.

Côte d'Ivoire have handed a first call-up to the senior squad for Netherlands-based midfielder Cheikh Tiote for Sunday's FIFA World Cup™ qualifier against Malawi in Abidjan. The 22-year-old replaces the injured Barcelona midfielder Yaya Toure.
Tiote is promoted up from the Ivorian U-23 side after regular performances for Twente in the Netherlands this season. Elephants coach Vahid Halilhodzic has also called-up back-up goalkeeper Badari Ali Sangare to replace injured Vincent de Paul Angan. Sangare played for the locally-based national side at the recent CAF African Nations Championship, which Côte d'Ivoire hostedThe Group E qualifier marks only the second game in more than a year in national colours for Ivorian captain Didier Drogba, who scored on his return to the team against Turkey in a friendly last month. He missed the entire first group phase of the 2010 FIFA World Cup qualifiers with a knee injury. There is also a return to the squad for France-born defenders Steve Gohouri and Abdoulaye MeiteSquad Le nouveau crack de l’entrejeu des Eléphants attire les convoitises de la Premier League.

dimitar berbatov 2010 pics2

Dimitar Berbatov Wallpaper – Barbatov 2010 is a bulgarian man and playing for Manchester United and use number 9 jersey after Luis Saha. Barbatov plays poor for united but he still use by Alex Ferguson. before plays for United he plays for Bayern Leverkusen and Spurs. below is Dimitar Berbatov Wallpaper 2010:garia international Dimitar Berbatov may be forced to endure exploratory knee surgery, according to Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson.
Bulgarian striker nets in three. It was a classic Sunday encounter which many would remember. Sir Alex Ferguson was criticized for bringing Bulgarian Dimitar Berbatov for a £30.8million price-tag ncouple of years ago from Tottenham Hotspurs. And that too filling in the void Cristiano Ronaldo left. But yesterday’s hat-trick act by the Bulgarian at Old Trafford was something which Ronaldo would have found hard to emulate. After having spent a uninspiring last two seasons where he just scored 14 and 12 goals respectively, Berbatov this time around is a rejuvenated player. Putting ahead the Red Devils ahead just three minutes before half-time he executed a second in the 59th with a stunning overhead kick which would be etched in public memory for a long long time. Just when United seemed to have got complete control of the match after this 2-0 lead Liverpool were thrown a lifeline by United’s frailty in defence as Steven Gerrard scored twice in six minutes midway in the 64th and the 70th the first from the penalty spot and a 20-yard free-kick, both awarded for fouls on Fernando Torres, to put his side in sight of a point. But Berbatov who gave a masterclass in striker art yesterday was the man of the moment again slotting in a perfect header to the bottom corner of the net in the 84th minute and silencing those critics who cried that ManU had been throwing away vital points too easily especially after their 2-2 draw with Fulham and the one against Everton when they conceded 2 injury time goals to finish with a draw after having led 3-1 in the 90th minute. This is not to take away credit from ManU winger Nani who was dazzling in the wings with able support from a very impressive Giggs. Match number 155 between these two English giants will be remebered for a long time to come.Berbatov was surprisingly left out of the United squad for Saturday's 1-1 draw with Birmingham City at St Andrew's, but Ferguson explained the striker's dilemma after the game.He said: "Dimitar wanted to play with it but we felt we should try to get it (the knee) sorted and get him fit again. He may have to have an exploratory operation."
Of his side's display after Darren Fletcher has been sent off, Ferguson added: "We were down to ten men for the last part of the game but in the first half we played absolutely brilliantly and dominated the match."It was a travesty to go in at half-time 1-0 down after they scored with their first attack. It was a sickener but it's important not to let your head go down. We kept battling away and deserved a point.
"We spoke about remaining patient at half-time because 45 minutes is a long time.
"We've won so many games late on so we shouldn't worry about being 1-0 down. We've faced that situation many times."
